A Reckoning.

Sometimes you need someone to sit down, look carefully at your life, and tell you what they see.

A personal, thoughtful examination of your circumstances, your concerns and the possibilities ahead. Written by me, drawing on nearly four decades of working with people.

Confidential · Personally undertaken · One-time fee
A different kind of conversation

You've probably spent enough time going round in circles.

You know that feeling when something in your life isn't right, but you can't quite get hold of what it is?

Perhaps you've tried to understand it yourself. You've thought about it, talked it through, made changes, perhaps even sought help before.

You may have a particular concern that won't leave you alone. Or perhaps it's a collection of things that seem to have become tangled together.

You want somebody who has spent years working with people to consider your circumstances properly, recognise what might be happening, and give you a thoughtful, independent view.

That's what A Reckoning is intended to do.

Time to understand the situation

A proper look at what's going on.

I read what you choose to share, consider the circumstances and write an assessment specifically for you.

I look for connections and patterns, difficulties you may be underestimating, strengths you may have overlooked and assumptions worth questioning.

I also distinguish what is reasonably supported by the information you give from what remains uncertain.

You receive a written account you can return to, consider in your own time and use when making decisions.

Choose what suits your situation

How much of your life would you like me to examine?

You may have one concern that deserves proper attention, or you may want to understand how the different parts of your life are affecting one another.

For one important concern

A Focused Reckoning

There's something on your mind that you would really like to understand.

Perhaps it's a relationship, a difficult decision, a persistent pattern, something at work or a part of your life that isn't going as you want.

I examine that concern in its wider context and prepare a personally written assessment of what I see.

Written clarification is included.

A Personal Reckoning

You want the full assessment, and the opportunity to talk through what it reveals.

Everything in the Complete Reckoning, with two private 75-minute video conversations with me.

We can explore the assessment, discuss areas that deserve further attention and consider what you may want to do.

Written follow-up and an agreed personal action review are included.

Each is a separate commission. There are no upgrades or transfer credits between the three services.

The bigger picture

Sometimes the problem you've been looking at isn't the whole problem.

Work affects home. Relationships affect confidence. Financial pressure affects decisions. History affects what we expect from the future.

Looking at one part of life in isolation can leave important connections unseen.

That's why the Complete and Personal Reckonings look across seventeen areas and bring the findings together into one assessment.

The Focused Reckoning also considers the surrounding context, while keeping attention on the particular concern you've commissioned.

A private and personal process

What happens after you book?

I've kept the process straightforward. You provide the information, I undertake the assessment, and you receive the completed work privately.

We begin with your circumstances.

After secure payment, your private Reckoning case is opened. You'll be guided through the relevant intake so you can explain your situation and what you want examined.

You decide what to share.

You can provide information directly and, if you wish, authorise particular existing Living records. Nothing is shared with me simply because you've made a purchase.

I do the thinking and writing.

I read and consider the material, examine the circumstances, look for connections and prepare your written assessment. I may ask for clarification when something important is unclear.

You receive your Reckoning.

Your report is delivered privately through your account. Included written clarifications, personal conversations and follow-up depend on the service you chose.

From me, personally

I'll take the time to understand what you're telling me.

You deserve a considered response to the life you've actually lived.

I've spent nearly four decades helping people examine their experiences, difficulties, circumstances and possibilities for change.

During that time, I've learned how important it is to listen carefully, question assumptions and look beyond the obvious explanation.

A Reckoning is a way of giving that attention to your circumstances through a personally prepared written assessment.

I'll tell you what I think the material suggests, where I see possible connections and where I believe greater clarity may help.

I'll also say when something cannot reasonably be concluded. You can agree, disagree or question anything I write.

Your life, your information

You remain in control of what you share.

I understand that some parts of your life may be deeply personal.

Your existing Stock Take, Life Audit and Life Work records remain private unless you explicitly authorise relevant material for your Reckoning.

Making a purchase does not give me automatic access to everything in your Living account.

Your assessment and completed report are handled through a private case workspace.

A Reckoning is independent of Living membership and Council credits. No paid Living membership is required to commission the service.

Ready when you are

If you'd like me to take a proper look at your life, this is where we begin.

Choose the service that suits your circumstances. You'll pay securely, then complete your private intake so I have the information needed to begin.

All three services are one-time purchases. Your payment must be confirmed before a private case is opened. The service terms and cancellation arrangements should be reviewed before purchase.

Before you decide

A few things you may want to know.

Is this therapy or counselling?

No. A Reckoning is a personally written assessment of your circumstances, concerns and options. It does not include therapy, medical diagnosis or emergency support.

Will Martin really read my material?

Yes. I personally undertake the assessment and prepare the written report. It is commissioned work, created around the information you choose to provide.

Do I have to be a Living member?

No paid membership is required. A private account is used to manage your booking, intake, consent and report.

What if I have already completed Living work?

You may choose to authorise specific relevant information from your existing work. It is never automatically handed over simply because you have purchased a Reckoning.

How long will it take?

That depends on the service, the information supplied and availability. You'll receive an estimated delivery timeframe for your commission. The Personal Reckoning also requires scheduling private conversations.

Can I change to a different Reckoning later?

Each Reckoning is a separate commission. There are no upgrade credits or transfers between the three services.

What if I'm unsure which to choose?

The Focused Reckoning is intended for one significant concern. The Complete Reckoning examines seventeen areas of your life. The Personal Reckoning includes the complete examination with two private video conversations and further follow-up.

A Reckoning

You don't have to work everything out on your own.

Sometimes another perspective helps you see something you've been too close to recognise.

If you'd like me to consider your circumstances, examine what you've been dealing with and give you my considered assessment, you're welcome to commission a Reckoning.
